How Do I Maintain my Tiles of Carpet?
1. Take Preventative Steps. Prior to installing your tiles of carpet, be sure that your sub floor is ready for installation. In order to properly install your tiles of carpet, your sub floor should be clean, dry and dust-free. If installing at ground level, be sure to check thoroughly for any water or soil leakage that could damage your tiles of carpet.
2. Daily Cleaning. For daily maintenance and cleaning, a vacuum cleaner with beater bar brush or strong suction will work nicely to release particles from the tiles of carpet. If you have heavy foot traffic or pets, vacuuming your tiles of carpet more frequently is recommended.
3. Spot Cleaning. No need for harsh chemicals with your tiles of carpet. Hot water and a bit of plain white vinegar will do well to clean up most spots on your tiles of carpet. Blot the area with a clean white towel and your stain should lift easily. Be sure to rinse with clean water to remove any vinegar residue from your tiles of carpet.
4. Stubborn Stains. If you have a stubborn stain, you can remove the tiles of carpet with the stain and wash them in the sink. Simply lay the tiles of carpet out to dry, and when thoroughly dry, re-position your tiles of carpet on the floor.
5. A Back-Up Plan. If you have tiles of carpet that are badly soiled or damaged, and all of your attempts at cleaning have not worked, replace the offending tile with a new tile. When you purchase your tiles of carpet, we recommend ordering an additional 15% for installation waste and for future replacement needs. A little extra investment on the front end will prevent headaches in the future.
